Life whizzes by

So a wee bit has happened since my last post.

I finally found a doctor who said something is wrong with your gall bladder.

The surgeon agreed, so we took it out...

A week later, I started to have stroke-like symptoms.

Six weeks of doctors not knowing, doctors thinking they know, etc, until my hero, and my current neurologist, thought the culprit might be seizure disorder.

We are still in the process of finding my triggers and getting my meds right, but we're on the right path 8)

the medical conveyor belt

So I have had 1 cat scan and two er visits in 9 days.

The pain is continuous and worsening.

I was referred to a gastroenterologist...

He decided i need to do several tests, a test to rule out Celiac's disease, a colonoscopy, and an endoscopy. they were going to be a few weeks out, but i was told that if i was continuing to hurt badly, to go back to the er and I would be admitted...
That didn't happen, but my scopes have been moved up to this week... I am nervous, I will admit it, but I know I will be ok.

also, the second er doctor is my hero. He gave me some anti-spasmotic medicine that is helping soooo much.

This ordeal reminds me why doctors call it a practice 8D. Comforting, when one realizes that we are the guinea pigs.

what's wrong with me?

Well, a lot has happened... I am gluten intolerant... most definitely...

The doctors also think I either am having gallstone issues and/or appendicitis....

I am officially on a no fat diet...

That no is very specific. no dressing, no mayonaise, no fat whatsoever... I can't cook in oil.

My sweet man made me dinner with grapes, garlic, chicken, etc. it was tasty...

i already miss gluten free bread....

But as Dave always says... "Health First..."

feeling mortal and this week's goals

i have been feeling quite mortal lately. Diabetes, both type 1 and 2 can kill. The more research I delve into, the more I know I need to make drastic changes...

I am now on a b supplement for my neuropathy(without the cyanide derivative. I had an allergic reaction to it.)

My first goal is to reduce diet sodas with aspartame and splenda, etc. This week, I have to drink less than 64 ounces. It's a lot still, but definitely less than I was drinking.

I have to drink 64 ounces of water per day.

I have to stay on top of my sugars and take insulin accordingly.

I am working on eating healthier meals in general, and eating good, nutritious foods for meals and snacks. that is difficult for me, but I am doing better this week.

My goal is 10 minutes of exercise per day. I know it's small, but I am working on up 8).

I want to focus on losing a .5 lb per week. It's a small goal but I think that's the way I need to go about this.

The family that Wiis together, Stays together 8D

The entire family is Wii-ing.... Wii fit to be precise. We are doing this as a family, and it has already been really good for us. We are encouraging each other to start making healthier choices and do better. We can do this 8).

Whew... It's always something

So glad Dave's bloodwork came back ok. We are still focusing on bettering ourselves and being healthier. We definitely want to focus on our diet and exercise.

One focus for me this week will be to drink 64 oz of water per day. Yesterday, I completed that mission. Hopefully, the rest of this week will be better 8)

I had some issues with low blood sugar a couple of weeks ago along with a bunch of red spots on me. The doctor ended up saying they were probably bug bites, but we think it may be a chlorine rash. We shall see 8). That is getting better, thankfully...

And now, I got a phone call that my yearly exam came back abnormal, so a small biopsy is in my near future. I am nervous, but I know it will be ok. Dave is being very supportive and I am glad of that.

True Blood Test

So my blood test came back. I'm normal. My concerns were proven to be unfounded and I am (save for some fatty liver issues) healthy.

That is all. What more need there be?
